Mysterious Sewing Society
Last Saturday, March 25th, I held the third Mysterious Sewing Society retreat. Wow, what fun that was. Ok, you may be asking just what is that!
It is a one day retreat that features a new mystery pattern written by me. We meet for one day and sew and play all day long. We began the day at about 9 AM with 42 quilters ready to sew. Each had been given their fabric and cutting guides beforehand and were ready to rock and roll.
During the day we played "let's make a deal" with many wonderful door prizes from our many fabric company friends plus a free quilting from one local quilt artist, one free place in the next retreat and many more just fun gifts.
After we had a break for lunch at the Der Dutchman restaurant, we were back hard at work to try to complete our tops before 9PM.
Many friend and sister groups were in attendance and many new friendships were formed. There were quilters from all over the state as well as virtual quilters. What fun!
We sewed, we laughed, we played, we ate.
Our next Mysterious Sewing Society retreat will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023. Our retreat is held at the beautiful Carlisle Inn in Sarasota, Florida. This hotel is in the middle of an Amish area of the city and is decorated with many gorgeous quilts. It is almost like a quilt show in the hotel.
Each quilter has her own table so there is plenty of room to create. We would love to have you plan to join us for the next retreat. Come meet new and excited quilters, learn something new, and have a ball.
After the mystery (within a few days) you will also receive a copy of the published pattern.
Quilters need to be around quilters more.
Patterns for "Twist and Shout" are available on the site.
